Processing can destroy a lot of enzyme activity. Techniques like coating of enzymes have been developed, but they are expensive and do not always provide full protection.

Adding enzymes post pelleting using liquid application (PPLA) avoids loss of enzyme activity due to conditioning, pelleting or expanding processes, but requires enzymes in a stable liquid form. Generally liquid enzymes have shorter shelf-life and lower storage stability than dry enzymes. Packing and transporting of the liquid enzymes in bulky IBC containers requires special (cooled) storage and transport.

To overcome these weaknesses of liquid enzymes Huvepharma has developed a new form for enzyme application in the feed mill: water soluble enzymes which are transformed into liquid enzymes for PPLA, on site at the feed mill.

The NSP enzyme Hostazym® X and the phytases OptiPhos® and Hostazym P are available as water-soluble powders (WSP). Production takes place via a special formulation method, as the enzymes have to be very concentrated and instantly water soluble in cold water.

Specially developed equipment (the Huvematic®) to reconstitute the enzyme powder into liquid enzyme is installed by Huvepharma in the feed mill. This totally new concept marks a revolutionary step forward in the application of feed enzymes. Benefits are clear: the quality of the feed is improved while labour, waste and costs are reduced!

This new development shows Huvepharma to be a leader in the enzyme industry, and should clearly make Huvepharma your preferred supplier for enzymes in all your pig and poultry feeds.
