Viet Nam - There has been a new outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in Viet Nam.

By: The outbreak occurred in a susceptible population of 300 village birds, 200 of which died, and another 100 were slaughtered to prevent the spread of the disease.
The affected village is located in the south of Viet Nam, in Vinh Long province.
The source of the outbreak is unknown.
