MUSCAT - The chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, met with representatives of the Oman poultry industry on Sunday to urge an increase of egg and poultry meat production

According to the Times of Oman, the meeting was convened within the context of implementing recommendations of the ministerial committee concerned with the high price phenomenon to highlight obstacles that limit capacities of these firms to supply local markets with actual needs for poultry and egg.

Al Khonji highlighted the compelling need to enhance local production with poultry and egg to meet the local markets’ needs.

He underlined the government’s concern to find relevant solutions and alternatives to enhance production of companies operating in this sector to meet the needs in the future.
