RUSSIA - About 7 million birds received their first vaccinations against highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), and 2.25 million birds were revaccinated.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Rosselkhoznadzor, reports that there are over 5.34 million poultry in high-risk areas on the territory of the Siberian District.

In the course of monitoring for laboratory research, experts discovered antibodies to A-H5 avian influenza virus in blood serum of 300 wild migratory birds in the Altaisky and Krasnoyarsky Krai, the Republic of Buryatia, Tuva and Khakassia, and the Tomsk Region.

So far, no cases of avian influenza among wild and domestic birds have been registered on the territory of the Siberian Federal District.
