In 2001, Mr Mutimer moved to the US as world quality manager and within a year added animal welfare to his portfolio. He returned to the UK in 2004 as corporate animal welfare and quality assurance manager and a member of the business unit management team. In 2006, Mr Mutimer was promoted to director of world quality assurance and animal welfare leading a major biosecurity and welfare programme, liaising closely with the research and development programme.

Stan Reid, Cobb vice-president for sales and marketing commented: "We welcome Roy and his ability to work across all functions within the company. This has helped him gain a good appreciation of what is required to run a business unit and what it takes to succeed."

"Roy brings a firm understanding of Cobb's core values and the value of relationships both inside the organization as well as our commitment to research and development and the importance of serving our customers. We look forward to his contribution in leading the European team in the future."
