Haiti Bans Poultry Imports from Dominican Republic

HAITI - A warning has been issued by the Haitian Ministry of Public Health on the resurgence of avian flu in the Dominican Republic, and the matter has been confirmed by a diplomatic mission to the latter country.

Consumers, as well as retailers and importers, have been warned against importing poultry products.

The importation and sale of meat products, particularly poultry, eggs and live animals that have been potentially infected or are carriers of avian influenza from the Republic Dominican is prohibited until further notice.
