Paul Clark, who is one of the UK’s foremost specialists on biomass, highlighted the impact the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will have on the future of the sector.

Mr Clark said: "The importance of continuing government support for renewable technologies cannot be underestimated and we need to see more commitment, as we move forward and continue to develop the use of biomass technology in the poultry sector.

"We examined in detail the pivotal difference the RHI can make to potential projects in ensuring that they deliver the cost savings and return on investment that farmers need in order to commit to the technology."

His comments follow his appearance at a major green energy summit in London. Paul Clark, who is managing director of leading UK biomass expert Rural Energy, was a keynote speaker at Ecobuild 2014, the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction, energy and the built environment.

Mr Clark shared the platform in a session chaired by Paul Thompson, Head of Policy at the Renewable Energy Association.

"There is no doubt that the RHI can make a real difference for the poultry sector. It is a game-changer.

"We also looked at the large energy savings that can be made by utilising the latest biomass technology and what farmers need to consider when looking at this as an alternative."

Mr Clark pointed out the real difference the RHI makes to projects in terms of cost savings and return on investment.

He also talked about the reductions in energy bills that poultry farmers can make by using biomass technology.

Rural Energy, part of the Myriad CEG group, is one of the UK’s most experienced biomass installers, specialising in systems for every kind of business, as well as offering unrivalled technological expertise and customer service.
