The ESPN gives industry representatives the opportunity to learn from one another by discussing critical topics in their fields. Novus International, Inc. was a diamond sponsor of the event and presented its latest advances in poultry nutrition with seven research posters.

Novus is dedicated to enhancing nutrition programs for the broiler, layer and breeder segments, and brings nearly 25 years of expertise in improving productivity in animal agriculture with sustainable solutions.

During the ESPN, Novus hosted a lunch forum on mineral environmental constraints presented by Dr Laura Star, Poultry Nutrition Researcher at Schothorst Feed Research.

An overarching message at the lunch symposium was that producers can reduce the excretion of zinc, copper and manganese into the environment by lowering total levels of these minerals in animal diets, as well as increase safety margins by supplementing feed with phytase and organic mineral sources.

“Feeding high-quality chelated trace minerals offers significant advantages when it comes to animal performance,” commented Dr Alain Bourdonnais, Sr Marketing Manager EME at Novus.

“When compared to other organic and inorganic mineral sources, chelated trace minerals offer an improved technology that helps animals reach optimal nutrition even with reduced mineral supplementation. By including lower concentrations of chelated trace minerals, this not only alleviates minerals excretion concerns, but also significantly improves production efficiency.”
