Jeff Sizelove, senior vice president for US pork and poultry with Zoetis, speaks to The Poultry Site's Sarah Mikesell at IPPE in Atlanta

“There are multiple interventions throughout the process to make sure that we're protecting the food supply, and Zoetis has made a change in the way we think of how we go to market, what things we're working on in the marketplace and we want to align with our customers from farm to fork," said Jeff Sizelove, senior vice president for US pork and poultry with Zoetis.

Most people think of Zoetis as a pharmaceutical and biological company, and Sizelove said that remains the core of their business. However, moving forward, Zoetis is now offering products and programmes throughout the entire value chain.

“We've made a venture into antimicrobial washes, so not only do we have the vaccines that can help protect animals on the live side, but we're also helping our customers to actually reduce pathogens and protect the food supply in the processing plant,” he said. “We'll remain with our core in vaccines, pharmaceuticals and biologicals. But as this industry continues to change, we want to be aligned with our customers and be with them and their brand across the continuum of care from farm to fork.”

In poultry, Zoetis services the hatchery with vaccines and the Embrex Inovoject vaccination delivery system for diseases like Marek’s Disease and coccidiosis. They are also in the feed mill with medicated feed additives for necrotic enteritis and other poultry gut health issues.

“We're offering solutions and are continuing to change and evolve as our customers change and evolve,” concluded Sizelove.
