US - Turkey eggs in incubators down 1 percent, report the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).Eggs in Incubators on December 1 Down 6 Percent
Turkey eggs in incubators on December 1, 2003, in the United States totaled 28.1 million, down
6 percent from December 1 a year ago.
Eggs in incubators were 2 percent below the November 2003 total of 28.7 million.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central, up 5 percent;
West North Central, down 4 percent; North and South Atlantic, down 10 percent; South Central, down
17 percent; and West, down 17 percent.
Poults Placed During November Down 8 Percent From Last Year
The 22.0 million poults placed during November 2003 in the United States were down 8 percent from
the number placed during the same month a year ago.
Placements were down 4 percent from the October 2003 total of 22.8 million.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central, down 5 percent; West North Central, down 8 percent; North and South Atlantic, down 7 percent; South Central, down 18 percent; and West, down 6 percent.
