Strong rand hits ostrich farmers
SOUTH AFRICA - The dramatic rise of the rand against major international currencies is having a negative effect on industries that derive income from exporting. The South African ostrich industry, one of the world's largest producers of ostrich meat, leather and feathers, says the strong rand is making ostrich products less competitive on international markets.
