US - Turkey eggs in incubators down 2%, report the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).Eggs in Incubators on May 1 Down 2 Percent From Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on May 1, 2005, in the United States totaled 29.1 million, 2 percent
below May 1 a year ago. Eggs in incubators were 1 percent below the April 1, 2005 total of
29.3 million eggs.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central down
2 percent, West North Central up 4 percent, North and South Atlantic down 6 percent, South
Central down 10 percent, and West down 10 percent.
Poults Placed During April Down 5 Percent From Last Year
The 23.5 million poults placed during April 2005 in the United States were down 5 percent from the
number placed during the same month a year ago. Placements were up 1 percent from March 2005.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central down 1 percent, West North
Central down slightly, North and South Atlantic down 13 percent, South Central down 14 percent,
and West up 13 percent.
