Two new Cobb directors for Asian market
ASIA - Two promotions have been announced by Cobb-Vantress, Inc. to provide for the growing sales of Cobb broiler breeding stock in Asia. Mark Glavey has been named director of sales and Randy Vardeman director of technical services.
With more than 30 years experience with Cobb, Mr Glavey has worked in a series of roles including production, technical services and sales. He lived and worked for two years with Srithai Pasasuk in Thailand serving in production and technical service. Since moving back to the United States, Mr Glavey has continued to concentrate on business development for Cobb in Asia.
Mr Vardeman joined Cobb in 2001. He served as managing director for Sui Ping, Cobb's initial entry into China. Following two years in China, Mr Vardeman has continued to work in Asia further expanding his responsibilities. Previous international experiences include positions in the North American industry including six years as production director for Tyson de Mexico and breeder manager for Lester Brothers in Texas.
"Asia is a very challenging market;" says Bill Souther, Cobb's general manager for Asia. "With almost one half the world's population, it provides exceptional opportunities for expansion for the poultry industry and with the diversity of cultures, it offers the most complete product utilization. With the enlarged range of Cobb breeds, we look forward to meeting the challenge.
"Both Mr Glavey and Mr Vardeman bring expertise and understanding of cultures to their positions, and will be able to make significant contributions to Cobb's continuing growth in the region."
