For the past three years Mr Calvert has been providing technical assistance for Cobb grandparent and parent stock customers in Asia, and previously he worked seven years for Avian Farms which was acquired by Cobb-Vantress, Inc in 2000.

His earlier experience in the Asian industry includes periods with Sun Valley where as Thailand director of live operations, he managed the development of a new 1.2 million broilers per week operation, and also with the CP Group of Companies where he was particularly involved with improving breeder productivity.

Mr Calvert, who gained a poultry science degree at Auburn University located in the state of Alabama, is fluent in the Thai language. His appointment follows the naming in July of Randy Vardeman as Cobb general manager for Asia where he had worked as director of technical services for the past year.
