After firming up some local concerns, they will do actual visit to corn production areas in North Sulawesi in Indonesia.

Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. special project officer and business development officer in a telephone interview said the visit is final except that the dates have yet to be set among the players.

The Davao chamber official said the industry players are cautious about government restrictions considering that Philippines is extra careful in maintaining its status as bird flu free country.

"The MinBC is working closely with the Department of Agriculture considering that there are certain limits with regards corn importation," she said.

The government expressed optimism of the country's poultry production and expects an increase in poultry export because other countries ceases to source out their supply from countries that were affected by the bird flu.
