New Ostrich Farm Opening in Tirana
ALBANIA - The Albanian-Dutch Ostrich Company (ANOC) was scheduled to open an EUR900,000 (USD1.2 million) ostrich farm breeding 100 ostriches near Tirana on April 13, according to SeeNews.
It will soon start producing ostrich meat. The report noted that this is the first ostrich farm to be established in Albania.
The ANOC was established in 2005 with the support of the Dutch government's Programme for Co-operation with Emerging Markets (PSOM), said the Dutch Embassy in Tirana.
Half of the investment in the farm was provided by ANOC and half by the Dutch-based PSOM, which supports private sector development in emerging markets by developing co-operation between Dutch and foreign companies.
