Aviagen Hold Successful Ross Middle And East Africa Association Meeting In Thailand
THAILAND - Aviagen, the world’s leading poultry breeding company, recently held their fourteenth Ross Middle East and Africa Association Meeting at the Sofitel Central, Hua-Hin Resort in Thailand.The two-day meeting addressed a range of subjects. Distributors from South Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria and India gave an overview of their respective countries and their plans for the future. A series of presentations from the Aviagen Ross team informed the distributors present of the latest developments in the industry. Teerapon Teerasin, General Manager, Ross Siam Company Ltd talked of Thailand’s Dynamic Poultry Industry and Paul Gittins, Aviagen’s VP Asia for the Ross brand, gave an overview of the Far Eastern Poultry Industry and Aviagen’s success in the region.

On the second day, two guest-speakers, Bill Levell and Gordon Butland gave presentations. Bill Levell addressed the important topic of Role of the Distributors and their responsibilities to the customers in the region. Gordon Butland spoke of ‘AI – The Changing Face of Our Global Industry’. Ken Kirkpatrick, Company Veterinarian, re-inforced the importance of a good biosecurity procedures and quality control measures for good performance and Bruce Evans, Regional Technical Manager – Asia, led a session about the Distributor Customer Focus Teams and discussed the distributors’ importance and responsibilities.
Tony Freiji of Wadi Poultry, Egypt commented: ”The Ross Middle East and Africa Association Meeting is an important date in the calendar for distributors as it gives us the opportunity to keep up to date with industry information and strengthen relationships with the Aviagen Ross team and other distributors.”

As well as listening to a variety of presentations from Aviagen Ross staff which gives customers added value and support it was an excellent opportunity to share industry information and best practise with a diversity of people from a variety of countries in the Middle East.
This is the fourteenth meeting of its kind and part of the success of the Ross Middle East and Africa Association is the fact that we meet in a different region each time allowing the Ross Aviagen Team and our distributors to learn from the differing cultures and conditions that we experience. “
