Newcastle Disease in Sweden
SWEDEN - The veterinary authority has informed the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about a new outbreak of Newcastle disease. The authorities report the outbreak that started on 2 November at Trelleborg in the county of Län in the far south of the country.
The affected establishment, they say, consists of one house with 16,000 egg-producing poultry. The sampling was based on disturbances in egg production during the last three weeks together with higher mortality and lower feed consumption.
