New Low-Path Bird Flu in Czech Republic
CZECH REPUBLIC - The veterinary authorities have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding a new outbreak of low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI).The Czech veterinary authority has sent an Immediate Notification dated 26 February to OIE.
The one case was in Hodonin in Jihomoravsky (South Moravian region) in the south-east of the country. It involved a flock of 679 breeding geese, six of which were affected. The whole flock was destroyed.
The viral type has not yet been identified.
