The Belgian veterinary authorities sent Follow up Report No. 3 dated 17 November to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The report describes a new case of Newcastle disease in a hobby pigeon flock at Haasdonk in East Flanders. On 22 October, four birds in the flock of 200 birds had clinical symptoms and were suspected to have a parasitic infection.
When the paramyxovirus type 1 virus was identified, the four birds were euthanised.
