IPE REPORT: Countering the Activists
US - In the Education Program at the International Poultry Expo (IPE) in Atlanta yesterday (28 January), two speakers shared their experiences of dealing with those who unfairly oppose agricultural practices, writes ThePoultrySite editor, Jackie Linden.The industry is under attack from animal right activists, environmental activists and other groups.
On the second day of the IPE, the USPoultry Education Program was entitled 'Animal Ag Industry under Attack'. The speakers were Dr Wes Jamison of Palm Beach Atlantic University and Blake Hurst, a farmer and author from Missouri, who discussed the realities of modern agriculture and how one should respond to the misguided or misleading tactics that some of the groups and individuals use.
