The event, featuring lectures on innovations by the national poultry industry, was attended for around 500 people from all over Brazil. The Cobb lecture was given by José Luis Januario, a veterinarian from Federal University of Uberlandia with a post-graduate qualification in avian sciences. He joined Cobb in 2003 as a technical assistant, serving customers in the states of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo.

He spoke about the physiological needs of poultry, the habitat for day-old chicks, rearing and management and practical aspects of environmental control for high-performance poultry production.

Cobb technical and marketing manager Henrique Casagrande, and technical assistants Paulo Favero, Luciano Keske and Eduardo Costa attended the event – and congratulated ACAV and the entire organisation on the success of the symposium.
