Auburn University Receives Student Recruiting Grant
US - The USPoultry Foundation recently awarded a $17,580 student recruiting grant to Auburn University's Poultry Science Department.Lyman Campbell, Complex Controller for Koch Foods and USPoultry board member, presented the cheque to Dr Don Connor, Head of the Poultry Science Department at Auburn University. Johnny Adams, Executive Director of the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association, and Codi Plaster, Auburn University Department of Poultry Science Student Recruiter, assisted in the cheque presentation.
"The Auburn Poultry Science Department is extremely grateful for the support provided by the USPoultry Foundation. These funds will help us to promote the outstanding education and career opportunities that Poultry Science majors experience at Auburn. Our graduates are well prepared for and easily placed in a wide range of rewarding careers in the poultry industry," remarked Dr Connor.
The USPoultry Foundation board recently approved student recruiting grants totaling more than $180,000 to the six US universities with poultry science departments and 14 other institutions with poultry programs. The Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to their poultry programmes.
