Free-Range Poultry Growing in Australia
AUSTRALIA - The free range sectors of the poultry industry are growing rapidly in Australia, representing 28.4 per cent of all eggs sold and approximately 15 per cent of chicken meat produced in 2010.These sectors are expected to continue to expand as some consumers express their preference for free range production.
The Poultry CRC is encouraging further research on the welfare, behaviour and nutrition of free range birds.
