According to Kuwait Times, he said he holds the Ministry of Commerce and the Union of Cooperative Societies responsible for the unprecedented hike in the price of eggs in Kuwait.

He continued by saying eggs are basic goods in every house and it is one of the important goods for food security. He said demands for eggs increase in the winter season. He said everyone has felt it.

Mr Al-Dujaini said there is a lack of response to public demand. He said merchants are being supported at the expense of consumers, who are continuously being faced with high prices.

He said regrettably his repeated demands were like shooting in the air, as no one has responded to them. None of the officials made any move to stop this matter, and they did not heed his warnings. He said he is disappointed that not one official moved to find solutions or speak openly to the media about this disaster.
