Hatchery and Processing Plant for Mundayad
INDIA - Meat Products of India (MPI) is to build a poultry processing plant and hatchery at the regional poultry farm of the Animal Husbandry Department at Mundayad.
According to a report in The Hindu, the new development is part of the government’s plan to enhance the capacity of the farm.
The work is expected to cost Rs.10 million and the government will fund it with Rs.2.5 million from the plan fund.
The processing plant will have a capacity to process 5,000kg of poultry meat a day and the hatchery will produce chicks to sell to local farmers to raise for Meat Products of India, according to The Hindu report.
Work on the hatchery and the meat processing unit is to start three months after a detailed report has been prepared.
The processing plant is expected to be running in a year.
