Mexico Begins Second Stage of H7N3 Vaccination

MEXICO - The National Service of Health, Food Safety and Quality (SENASICA) has announced the start of the second stage of vaccinating birds against avian influenza virus H7N3, which start from this week in the region of Los Altos de Jalisco.

According to the latest report from SENASICA, in the first stage 88.3 million vaccines were applied to immunise birds and maintain their productive capacity on farms.

Additionally, there is a reserve bank of 53 million vaccines and seeds for increased viral production if necessary, according to SENASICA Chief Director, Enrique Sanchez Cruz.

Mr Cruz also announced that the repopulation of laying hens begins from this month.
