Mexico Explains Egg Price Increase
MEXICO - The Mexico National Union of Poultry has announced that the sudden rise in egg prices is due to two factors: damage caused by the outbreak of H7N3 avian influenza and an increase in the international prices of corn and soybeans

By: Egg production has declined as a result of the outbreak of avian influenza H7N3, which has been compounded by high feed costs, due to the on-going global drought in many areas of the world.
The National Union of Poultry announced that the price of eggs can be sold to the general public at prices well above the price producers sell to wholesalers.
In this sense, the final price depends on the producers, not only on the distribution chain.
