Arbor Acres Middle East, Africa and Asia Share Meeting Venue
GLOBAL - Arbor Acres technical teams for the Middle East, Africa and Asia shared the same venue in Malaysia to have their annual meeting in early October. The common venue was host to around 50 customer representatives along with Aviagen regional management teams and technical specialists.Together the assembled group is responsible for all regional customer support and ensuring Arbor Acres Plus continues to grow and maintain its position as a leading product for a considerable portion of the global poultry market.
The comprehensive agenda covered a broad range of technical topics and updates to ensure the customer representatives were offered every opportunity to benefit from the ongoing research and development work that had been completed since the previous meeting a year earlier.
The meeting covered current regional market performance, R&D for today and tomorrow, current disease updates, growth profiles and several technical review sessions. The second day addressed vaccination schedules, genetic improvement impact on management and husbandry, the value of data and benchmarking and some hatchery problem solving. Day three was devoted to broiler nutrition and a review of recent hatchery trials and egg storage and chick handling.
The agenda was developed from a customer survey issued some six to nine months prior to the meeting to ensure important customer issues were recognised and preparation was completed in order to create a meeting that had value for customer technical managers in attendance. The meeting was considered to be a success and this appraisal was well supported by the post meeting survey which registered a 90 per cent approval rating for the event.
“These meetings have gathered momentum over the years and have a significant impact on participants. It may in fact be best described as a large family reunion. On reflection, they may be even more than that with not only an exchange of experience taking place, but in some cases an exchange of business has evolved with visits to each other’s facilities,” commented Stanley Millar, Commercial Manager , Arbor Acres, Middle East and Africa.
“This was the first year both Arbor Acres grandparent customers from the Asia and the Middle East Africa groups held their technical meeting in the same venue. This was a great success. The talks were very well done, given by great speakers and covered a wide range of timely and appropriate subjects. We will be sure to repeat this event again on a regular basis for the benefit of all our customers from across the Asia Middle East and Africa,” commented Neal Scanlon, Vice President Acres Acres Asia.
Aviagen remains committed to spreading and sharing poultry knowledge gained from its research and development around the world. The technical meeting held in Kuala Lumpur in October offered another excellent opportunity to continue implementation of our long term mission of keeping our customers groups update with the most recent flock management information available.
