Chr Hansen Presents Remarkable Research at IPPE
DENMARK - The combination of Bacillus licheniformis (BL) and Bacitracin Methylene Disalicylate (BMD) supplied to C. perfringens challenged broilers is more effective in improving weight gain and feed conversion ratio than the use of BMD alone, according to Chr. Hansen Animal Health and Nutrition. At the upcoming IPPE in Atlanta, Georgia, Chr. Hansen Animal Health & Nutrition will present two posters with research done in collaboration with Greg Mathis at Southern Poultry Research Inc. In particular, the investigation into the use of Chr. Hansen's direct fed microbials in combination with Bacitracin Methylene Disalicylate (BMD) showed remarkable results.
Kristina Soerensen, Scientific Affairs Manager says: "We test our own products in combination with and against the antibiotic growth promoters available on the market in order to give the customer alternatives to using antibiotic growth promoters or to support the intestinal flora in animals fed antibiotic growth promoters. Our research, as well as customer experience, has shown that our Bacillus strains used in combination with antibiotic growth promoters, have provided performance benefits over just the growth promoter itself."
Robert Lantz, Sales Manager for Poultry, says: "While at IPPE in Atlanta, we would hope that poultry producers would stop by the Chr Hansen booth (No. 2623) to learn more about the Chr. Hansen Probiotic Shuttle Program. We are fortunate to be the only probiotic, or direct-fed microbial, company that offers more than one product as a solution to the poultry producer’s needs. GalliPro®, GalliProMax, GalliProMax CP and GalliProTect each have different characteristics and applications which can be used to satisfy the varying needs of the industry."
Morten Baggesen, Global Marketing Manager, says: "Prior to the IPPE 13, FeedInfo will broadcast an interview with Kristina Soerensen and Bob Lantz, providing more insights of the research and the use of probiotics in the poultry industry in North America today. We also invite poultry producers and experts to stop by at the poster presentation on Monday 28th, from 4-6 pm, at the IPPE in Atlanta. Both posters will be available as hand-outs, at our booth number 2623, throughout the show. Moreover, our full global team of poultry experts will be present in Atlanta, to answer any questions producers and experts may have."
