JBS Appoints Tomazoni President of Global Poultry Business
BRAZIL - Brazilian meat and poultry processor, JBS has appointed Gilberto Tomazoni to take charge of the company's global poultry business operations from 7 March.He will report directly to Wesley Mendonça Batista, global CEO of JBS S.A.
His primarily goal will be to position the company strategically in the market.
Mr Tomazoni has extensive experience and knowledge of the food industry. He worked for 27 years at Sadia S.A., four of which as CEO, where he participated actively in the company's internationalization and in the development of its brands in Brazil and abroad.
During the past three years, he served as vice president of Bunge Alimentos, managing the business of food and ingredients, accumulating the position of executive director for Central and South America.
Mr Tomazoni graduated as a mechanical engineer at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, with postgraduate studies in management development.
He began his career as a trainee at Sadia in Concordia (SC) in 1982. Throughout his career, he went through several roles, including project engineer, head of maintenance, plant manager and director of pork operations.
In 1997, he developed Sadia’s strategic plan and led the poultry operations, accelerating the process of internationalisation of the company.
In 2001, Mr Tomazoni also became responsible for marketing, sales and logistics of all products in Brazil. Finally, in 2005, he was appointed president of the company, a position he retained until 2009.

He has broad knowledge of the poultry business and will provide a relevant contribution to JBS to broaden our global perspective in this segment," said Wesley Batista.
Currently, JBS processes more than 8.5 million birds per day in globally. As a global leader in this sector, JBS has poultry operations in the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico and exports to over 100 countries.
