EU Officials Visit to Perform Brazilian Poultry Meat Hygiene Audit
BRAZIL – European Union officials are visiting meat health facilities and slaughterhouses to audit standards and ensure poultry meat meets EU requirements for import.Rigorous inspections are scheduled at the laboratory for microbiological analysis in Rio Grande do Sul and the headquarters of the Department of Livestock Inspection of Animal Products in Goias.
Rodrigo Figueiredo, Foreign Secretary for Agriculture underlined the importance of the visit for Brazilian agribusiness: “It is an opportunity for Brazil to continue trade relations with the European Union and open up more visits for more establishments, showing our new skills.”
The team will stay until September 20 and also take in Parana and Sanata Catarina.
