According to Emirates 24/7, the ministry said that after the reports from Qatar that Al Watania fresh chicken contained salmonella bacteria, it had conducted extensive field surveys which proved that the last shipment of Al Watania chicken from Saudi Arabia was on 13 September and was completely fit for human consumption.

It, however, added that the company's products will be strictly examined to ensure that they conform to all UAE quality standards for poultry meat.
