IPPE Plans Meat Me in @LANTA Activities for Attendees
US - The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) is planning a variety of Meat Me in @LANTA activities for IPPE attendees. IPPE will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, from 28-30 January 2014.A Chili Cook-off contest is planned for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 28 January 2014. A group of highly competitive Atlanta chefs will prepare their favorite chili recipes featuring beef, pork and poultry. Attendees can sample and vote on their favorite chili, and a “Best Chili” award will be presented at 3:30 p.m. to the winning chef.
The International Networking Reception at the Georgia Aquarium will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 28 January 2014. The event is sponsored by International Paper, and complimentary tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis to all IPPE attendees. Tickets will be distributed at a special desk in the registration lobby on Monday and Tuesday of the expo.
The IPPE Wing Fling will feature various levels of flavored hot wings, and attendees can compete to see who can eat the most wings in a set time frame. The IPPE Wing Fling is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 29 January 2014. The winner will receive a $250 Visa gift card.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, 28-29 January 2014, IPPE will have cooking demonstrations featuring nationally and locally recognized chefs who will highlight preparing and cooking with pork products. The demonstrations will be held in the Pig Pavilion, Booth 6828, in the B-Hall, and attendees are encouraged to stop by to experience the activities.
On Tuesday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., a demonstration on specialty pork cuts will be held by Steve Olson, advisor for North American Meat Association’s Standards and Specifications. At 1 p.m. on Tuesday and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, internationally renowned cooking artist Howard Helmer will demonstrate how eggs and pork products can work together to make exciting complements for breakfast and other meals.
At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Francesco Abbinanti C.E.C., area chef for Levy Restaurants, will provide a demonstration preparing and cooking pork with an international flair. The cooking demonstration area will also feature local chefs providing tips on new ideas for featuring pork on the menu.
