Export Collapse Hurts Sao Paulo Broiler Price
BRAZIL – Chicken prices have dropped after a lower exports flooded the domestic market, report economists at the University of Sao Paulo.Brazilian broiler values had moved down 7.4 per cent on 3 December, leaving prices at 2.45 reals per kilo, according to the Centre for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics.
This followed a 9.7 per cent drop in shipments abroad in November compared to the month before, with much extra product sold in Sao Paulo state.
