Brazilian Farmers Should Expect Good Year
BRAZIL – Brazilian economists have offered a positive outlooks for Brazil’s pig and poultry producers on supply and demand forecasts.Strong cattle prices are expected to support poultry prices in 2015, while pig producers should be in for a “good year”, says the Centre for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics (CEPEA).
However, players need to “act carefully” in case the economy weakens.
The centre added that pork exporters should strive to open more markets this year given the dependency on Russia.
Currency movements could favour poultry prices due to 30 per cent of production being exported.
