Ukraine Wheat Exports Pass Nine Million Tons

UKRAINE – Ukraine’s grain exports up to this week have topped 23 million tons, with wheat at nine million tons, says the Agriculture Ministry.

Shipments have reached 1.0325 million tons for corn/maize, 3.805 for barley and 2.47 million ‘other grains’ as of 17 February.

Volume prepared for export is at 23.570 million, said the ministry.

Commenting on domestic grain markets, the ministry said: “Prices in demand for cereals currently vary according to region, wheat, third class, is from US$ 3275 to 4400 per ton. Sixth grade feed wheat is from US$ 2870 to 4100 per ton.”

“Currently, prices for food and feed wheat, class three, are 3755 per ton for feed and 3351 per ton in Ukrainian hryvnia. Barley prices are around $3164 and corn is $2993 per ton.”
