Top Level Speakers, Key Topics Confirmed for IEC Business Conference

PORTUGAL - The Egg Production session of the IEC Business Conference Lisbon 2015, will focus on influenza.

Dr Christianne Bruschke, Chief Veterinary Officer, Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands will lead the topic, 'Working together to beat influenza'.

Eric Hubers, Chairman of Ovoned in the Netherlands will present 'Best practice in monitoring and controlling highly pathogenic influenza'.

The conference will also hear from Dr Joy Mench, University of California-Davis, USA during the Customer Focus session 'Sustainability of hen housing systems - Findings from the Coalition for a Sustainable Egg Supply project'.

Speaking on ‘Continuous Improvement in Animal Care’ will be:

  • Mark Williams, Chief Executive Officer, British Egg Industry Council - "The future of beak trimming in the EU"
  • Frans van Sambeek, R&D Director Hendrix, The Netherlands - "Potential solutions for male layer chicks”
  • Peter van Horne, IEC Economic Analyst, The Netherlands - "Male layer chicks and the economic impact"

During the Egg Processing Session, delegates will hear from Amandio Santos, President of Portugal Foods leading the discussion on 'The Portuguese Egg Products Industry - Adding Value by Collective Strategies' and Sara Gibbins, Divisional Managing Director with Noble Egg Innovations presenting 'The effects of globalisation in the egg processing industry'.

The IEC Business Conference Lisbon 2015 will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Lisbon from 12 to 14 April.
