New Insight on Broilers in Hot Weather
US – A new study into how temperature, relative humidity and air velocity interact and the effect on broilers has been completed at the University of Georgia.Tunnel ventilated houses were analysed which will help clarify how broilers of different body weights produce and lose heat in response to the environment.
“Several trends in bird heat production and loss were observed, which will provide practical insight for growers and integrators to minimize heat stress in broilers during hot weather,” said the US Poultry and Egg Association, funders of the study.
