Pas Reform Celebrates 10 Years in Russia
RUSSIA - A decade ago, Pas Reform Russia opened its doors for business in Belgorod for the first time, as part of the Dutch hatchery technology company’s commitment to global expansion and close market co-operation.Today, with more than 2.5 billion eggs being incubated each year using Pas Reform’s Smart™ single stage incubation technologies, Pas Reform Russia has achieved more than 50 per cent market share in Russia and the C.I.S. through the realisation of more than 100 hatchery projects across the region.
With a dedicated team of 18 working under the visionary leadership of managing director Wim Schaafsma and commercial director Anna Kolygina, Pas Reform Russia has set a benchmark in the production of highly uniform, robust day old chicks, for a modern poultry production chain that values food safety, sustainability and animal welfare.
“The Russian poultry sector is very different in 2015 to the multitude of small-scale producers that we were talking to ten years ago,” said Mr Schaafsma.
“Today, this is a highly organised and professional sector, dominated by large, forward-facing integrations that have all but replaced imports to meet domestic demand – and who are now targeting export opportunities for continuing growth.”
Pas Reform Russia mirrors the operational capabilities of its Dutch parent, with the supply of innovative Smart™ incubators, hatchery automation and climate control systems; experienced project planning, management and installation teams; technical support, a catalogue of around 1,000 spare parts stocked locally and logistics throughout the region.
Pas Reform Academy’s hatchery management training programmes have, as Mr Schaafsma predicted in 2005, remained pivotal in building relationships for the long-term.
“Robust hatchery innovation, uniform chick quality, outstanding technical support and open collaboration have supported our customers’ ambitions here for ten years,” concluded Mr Schaafsma.
“We’ve made a commitment, and we look forward to playing a key role in supporting future developments in the Russian poultry sector for decades to come.”
As Pas Reform Russia celebrates 10 years of working partnership with a growing and dynamic poultry sector, Wim Schaafsma marks 25 years’ working with Pas Reform.
Raised on a poultry farm in The Netherlands, Mr Schaafsma studied mechanical and control engineering before starting work with the company in 1990. With experience of building many hatchery projects around the world, Wim Schaafsma spent most of his first ten years with Pas Reform in Asia, visiting Russia for the first time in the early ‘90s.
Pas Reform Russia is exhibiting at this year’s VIV Russia trade expo at the International Crocus Exhibition Centre in Moscow, from May 19th-21st.
The company will host a celebratory 10th Anniversary cocktail party for guests and visitors at the company’s stand (08.20.G2) from 17:00–18:30hrs on May 20th.
