USPOULTRY Hatchery-Breeder Clinic to be Held in July
US - USPOULTRY's annual hatchery and breeder clinic will be held on 14-15 July, in Nashville, Tennessee. The 2015 Hatchery-Breeder Clinic will focus on avian influenza preparation for the fall season, as well as addressing new innovations and best practices to optimise flock performance.
Hatchery-breeder managers play an important role in ensuring the highest level of chick quality from egg production to chick transportation.
“This year’s programme will address several timely topics, such as steps managers should take now to potentially prepare for avian influenza in the fall season, animal welfare global requirements, and sanitation at the hatchery and at the breeder farm.
"I think hatchery-breeder managers will find this programme very informative, and I encourage them to attend,” said programme committee chairperson Pat Hawkins, from Tyson Foods, Inc.
Other topics include: 'Effects of ABF/Preparation'; 'Chick Transport New Innovation'; 'Temperature Set Points and Step-Down Programs in the Hatchery'; 'Safety at the Hatchery and on the Farm…Back to Basics'; 'Breeder Uniformity/Early Male Mortality'; 'Broadcast Feeding in the Brooder House'; and 'Salmonella A to Z – Breeders through Hatchery'.
