Merial Hosts Key Accounts in Hatchery Symposium and VIV ASIA 2017

THAILAND - Last 13th of March, all roads led to Intercontinental Hotel in Bangkok, for the Let’s Speak Avian: Hatchery Solutions symposium hosted by Merial Asia.

An estimated 300 delegates from all over Asia attended the event, which focused on hatchery management and solutions. Five internationally known speakers provided information on different key areas that may improve hatchery management and performance. Scott Martin, a veteran in the hatchery for 38 years, discussed practical approaches in improving hatchery performance with better biosecurity and management.

Dr. Dexter Abrigo, Avian Marketing Manager for Asia, Dr. Phang Yuen Fun, Technical Manager, Asia and Dr. Julien Flori from Chene VErt COnseil, during the launch of the HAtchvet expert app at the VIV.

Dr. Keith Bramwell, whose research and work in the hatchery as an extension specialist for the University of Arkansas, provided insights on the impact of egg holding in the hatchery. Dr. Julien Flori, a veterinarian who has been providing support to hatcheries and layer breeders in France, Africa and the Middle East, explained the importance of continuously improving chick quality by sharing his experience in embryo physiology and chick quality assessment. Dr. Guillermo Zavala, a highly respected poultry consultant in many countries, talked about vaccination and disease prevention in the hatchery, while Dr. Chris Fritts, with her years of experience in developing equipment for the Global VTS team of Merial, showed the importance of good well designed vaccination equipment and current technologies that are coming.

From 15 to 17 of March, Merial was present at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) for the VIV Asia 2017, touted as the biggest animal health and nutrition tradeshow in the region. On the 15th of March, Merial launched an innovative and easy to use hatchery audit mobile application, called HatchVet Expert. The application can be used to conduct hatchery audits, focusing on 3 main key areas such as biosecurity, vaccine handling preparation and application. The launch will be at the booth and starts at 3pm.

With these events, Merial aims to stay ahead of the evolving needs by keeping in touch with the realities of customers by continuously providing comprehensive avian solutions through people, products and services, and strive to become the number one global animal health partner to customers.
