Tiger Holds Training for Lusaka Poultry Farmers

ZAMBIA - In an effort to continue improving the skills of poultry farmers on various aspects of poultry management, Tiger Chicks held a training session for poultry farmers in Lusaka on 28 June.

The guest speaker for the training was Mohsen Ganjae, a Technical Manager from Aviagen.

Issues covered during the training included winter brooding management of the Indian River Breed (Tiger Chicks) and how to turn the poultry business into profitable venture.

Other key issues touched during the training include biosecurity issues, litter management and costings.

The training is part of the many earmarked for poultry farmers stationed in various districts.

The farmers were informed of the benefits of adhering to prescribed poultry management procedures to ensure that they get maximum benefits from poultry farming.

A total of 58 farmers attended the training.

The Poultry Association of Zambia also attended the event, encouraging farmers to attend such sessions so that they can be equipped with much-needed technical know-how on how to manage the poultry business efficiently and effectively.
