According to the newspaper, every year ahead of the New Year holidays, there is a sharp rise in demand for eggs.

Local producers are unable to cater to the high demand and as a result, it has become necessary to import eggs.

ARKA News Agency reports that it is remains unknown as to why economic entities have not been importing as many eggs as necessary this year.

Zhoghovurd (People) says referring to its sources that the State Food Safety Agency has again been slow in providing permits to importers.

The possibility of eggs disappearing from shops has not been ruled out.
