Aviagen Asia appoints Larry Blackstone as Indian River commercial manager
Aviagen® Asia announced today that, effective April 2, 2018, Larry Blackstone will assume the role of Commercial Manager for the Indian River® brand of broiler breeders.Reporting directly to Aviagen Asia Business Manager Mark Wright, Larry will be responsible for maintaining and increasing market share of the Indian River brand, managing the Asian commercial sales and support operations of the team and promoting Aviagen’s long-term business development in the region.
As a long-time veteran in the poultry industry, Larry brings a range of experience to the new role including in depth product knowledge, flock management experience, customer service, and broad market insights. For the past ten years he has served as a Technical Manager in Asia, and most recently has been responsible for all parent stock sales in the Sri Lankan and Vietnamese markets. His background includes both production and hatcheries across the South Eastern US at a variety of the Aviagen production facilities, followed by eight years at the Aviagen Product Development Center in Albertville, Alabama as an assistant manager. Larry graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Poultry Science) from Auburn University USA in 1993.
