During 22-25 April, Aviagen and its Arbor Acres distributor of more than three decades - Cairo Processing Company (CPC) - debuted the first-ever Arbor Acres CPC Broiler School.

Aviagen and CPC have a longstanding and strong relationship, and the Arbor Acres brand has consistently strengthened in popularity in Egypt and throughout the Middle East and Africa (MEA). While Aviagen and CPC have worked together for 22 years on the Arbor Acres Breeder School, the event marked the introduction of the Broiler School, which took place close to Cairo.

Breadth of topics to help customers optimize broiler performance

Students at the well-attended event enjoyed a balanced mix of veterinary, nutritional, commercial and practical management presentations and discussions. Topics were presented by some of the region’s most highly regarded poultry experts from the Aviagen MEA team, CPC, and Egyptian universities and research institutes. Highlights included:

  • Arbor Acres International Commercial Manager for AMEA Khalil Nassar and CPC General Manager Dr. Khaled Mustafa opened the school and welcomed the delegates, highlighting Aviagen’s commitment to education and the Arbor Acres brand, and offered advice for optimizing the genetic potential of Arbor Acres birds
  • Dr Sayed Shalsh from the Animal Production Research Institute presented on broiler nutritional management and Dr. Mohamed El-Manawy from Cairo University offered broiler management information
  • Dr Hassan Bayomi from Cairo University provided ventilation and lighting tips
  • Richard Beevis, Arbor Acres Technical Manager for AMEA offered information on Broiler Management – The Farm Approach
  • Dr Zoltan Marton, Arbor Acres Regional Technical Services veterinarian, presented on current veterinary topics

“Aviagen shares with CPC the belief that the best way to shape the future of the poultry industry in a positive way is through effective education, and the ongoing success of the Arbor Acres School is due to this shared commitment to our up-and-coming poultry professionals,” says Richard. “It is this dedication to our customers and the industry at large that will continue the school’s success for years to come.”
