Turkish egg production slows, but broilers see significant gains
TURKEY - The Turkish Statistical Institute has released it's data showing the country's hen egg and broiler production for 2018Hen egg production
At 1.7 billion units, hen egg production decreased by 2.3 percent in November compared with the previous month, and increased by 0.1 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.
Poultry meat production
The number of broilers slaughtered was 100 million, and the number of turkeys slaughtered was 521,000 units.
The number of slaughtered broilers decreased by 0.2 percent in November compared with the previous month, and decreased by 1.5 percent compared with the same month of the previous year. The number of slaughtered turkey decreased by 10.2 percent in November compared with the previous month, and increased by 10.5 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.
Chicken meat production was 174,483 tonnes and turkey meat production was 4,954 tonnes.
Chicken meat production decreased by 4.1 percent in November compared with the previous month, and decreased by 2.5 percent compared with the same month of the previous year. Turkey meat production decreased by 12.6 percent in November compared with the previous month, and decreased by 1.1 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.
According to the seasonally and calendar-adjusted series, chicken meat production increased by 0.7 percent compared with the previous month. According to the calendar adjusted series, chicken meat production decreased by 2.5 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.
