Turkish egg production sees gains, but broiler production in a slight decline

Hen egg production was 1.7 billion units

Hen egg production increased by 5.2 percent in March compared with the previous month, and increased by 2.6 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.

100 million units of chicken slaughtered, 421,000 units of turkey

The number of slaughtered chickens increased by 9.1 percent in March compared with the previous month, and decreased by 4.6 percent compared with the same month of the previous year. The number of slaughtered turkeys increased by 2 percent in March compared with the previous month, and decreased by 19.4 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.

Chicken meat production was 175,327 tonnes, turkey meat production 4,341 tonnes

Chicken meat production increased by 10.7 percent in March compared with the previous month, and decreased by 5.7 percent compared with the same month of the previous year. Turkey meat production increased by 1.2 percent in March compared with the previous month, and decreased by 18.9 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.

According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series, chicken meat production increased by 0.7 percent compared with the previous month. According to the calendar adjusted series chicken meat production decreased by 3 percent compared with the same month of the previous year.
