On Nov. 4-5, Aviagen® SweChick Ab welcomed 27 veterinarians representing customers from the Nordic countries of Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, as well as Poland, to its annual cross-service meeting. During the same week (Nov. 5-7) and also in the city of Turku, the Nordic Poultry Conference held discussions relating to poultry meat and egg production, research and development. At the conference, Magnus Swalander, General Manager of Aviagen Ltd, presented on developing the chicken of the future and the latest advances in balanced poultry breeding.

Aviagen SweChick and its customers get together regularly to exchange best practices, and this year the cross-veterinary team paid special attention to the best ways to ensure biosecurity and bird welfare. Relative topics included vaccination, cleaning and disinfection and management tips for optimal temperature control.

In addition to exploring the latest veterinary developments, Thomas Carlson, General Manager of Aviagen SweChick, explained another essential purpose of the meetings. “The relationship-building and sharing of lessons learned are perhaps the most meaningful outcomes, as they provide a forum for strengthening our understanding of how to help our customers succeed through a greater understanding of their daily challenges.”
