The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) post increased its estimate of China's 2024 chicken production. Estimates were increased primarily on industry’s ability to maintain production volumes using domestic genetics as many foreign suppliers of genetics faced limitations over zoo-sanitary control measures, according to a recent US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) report.

Overall, white broiler chicken prices have declined for the first 5 months of 2024 but began to rebound since mid-May. Although the PRC doesn’t publish official broiler, only, production numbers, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported poultry production grew by 5.7% in the first half of 2024.

The China Feed Industry Association reported that broiler feed production grew by 0.5% in the first half of 2024.
